new shoes
i took saturday and sunday off from running. putting it delicately, i had a bug and didn’t feel that running would help things.

monday morning i ran 5 miles at 8:05 pace and all was well. when i got home from work last night, my new pair of ASICS Gel Evolution II’s had arrived. comparing the tread on the bottom of my existing Evolution II’s to the new ones, i realized that they were more worn than i expected. i got a good price on the shoes…roughly $80 from road runner sports.
this morning i headed out with my new shoes with temps in the low 50’s. i passed a guy who was running along with a full sweatsuit and a stocking hat. i think someone forgot to tell him it was spring…or it was Rocky Balboa training for yet another fight. i ended up with 8 miles at 8:30 pace and hit the shower.
