easy does it
this morning i got in an easy 5 miles. after taking sunday off, i ran 5 – 9.6 – 8 – 10 and today’s 5. i’ve fallen into sort of a easy – long – medium – long – easy – very long structure for my daily running. that and taking only one day off every 2 weeks.
this morning i looked at where i’m at in terms of the 12 wks b4 lakefront. with one day left to go before the halfway point (6 weeks)…i’m at 277 miles. with a long run tomorrow AM…i should push close to 300 miles.
over the final 6 weeks, the 1st 4 weeks would still need to be "high" weeks with the last two weeks tapering down to lakefront. i’m signed up for al’s run on 9/16 which should be a decent indicator of where i’m at in terms of speed. to date, i’ve done no speed work for fear of aggravating my right achilles or left calf…i should start working in some unstructured efforts (fartleks) during my weekday efforts and perhaps use the strider 20K as a pace run at 7:15-7:25 pace.
