round and round they go
morning temps were hovering around zero so i opted to meet up with dana at the pettit center for some left-turn running. we got rolling shortly after 7AM and shot the bull while dodging some of the slower runners/walkers. a club level speedskating meet was taking place while we ran and we paused a moment while they played the national anthem.
by about 1:20 i was getting tired of left-turn running and dodging folks on what was now a rather crowded track. we kept moving along and pushed through the rough spot and before we knew it the watch read 2:00 and we could call it quits.
we were likely moving a bit faster than 8:00 per mile pace but didn’t track the number of laps we had run. for the record, i’ll consider it 15 miles.
more hamster miles
i took the day off from running on thursday and opted for some miles on the treadmill today at lunch. i mustered 5 miles in a few ticks past 40 minutes and called it a day. at the moment, my aim is to bulk up on the miles on saturday and sunday rather than stretching myself too far during the week.
MTD – 61 miles
YTD – 243 miles
Odometer – 26,580 miles
deja vu all over again
i needed to be at work a bit early this morning so i (again) packed indoor gear and hit the treadmill at lunch. i made it to the locker room a bit tardy and needed to be back for a meeting so all i had time for was a 5 mile jaunt. i got rolling and adjusted my speed at each quarter mile. the table below details the effort with the speed expressed in miles per hour…
Mile 1 (~9:00)  6.0  6.5  7.0  7.5
Mile 2 (~7:45)  7.6  7.7  7.8  7.9
Mile 3 (~7:22)  8.0  8.1  8.2  8.3
Mile 4 (~7:02)  8.4  8.5  8.6  8.7
Mile 5 (~7:04)  8.8  8.9  9.0  7.5
i hit the shower and made it to my post lunch meeting on time.
even more hamster miles
i needed to be to work a bit early today so i packed gear to run at lunch. honestly, the effort during the noon hour was rather boring even with an ipod and a television to keep me entertained. regardless, miles are miles and i ended up with six in a few ticks less than 48 minutes.
back to hamster miles
morning temps were in the negative range again so i brought indoor gear and ran at lunch. i got lucky and grabbed the "good" treadmill as it was vacant. over the next 48 minutes i rolled six miles then hit the shower.
as far as mileage goes for the saturday and sunday efforts, i’m estimating i ran at least 24 miles as 3:10 at 8 minute pace would be 23.75 miles. i can vouch that i was at least moving at 8 minute pace for both efforts. therefore, i’ll say 12.5 on saturday and 11.5 on sunday.
MTD – 45 miles
YTD – 227 miles
Odometer – 26,564 miles
