today’s seven mile effort was rather routine as i headed east on the glacial drumlin and did a 180 for home at bethesda park.

outbound: 29:35

eight a.m.

my morning constitutional consisted of an eight mile out and back effort on the glacial drumlin. the sky was overcast and temps were in the mid-fifties. about three miles away from home, i spotted a snapping turtle camping out on the side of the trail. fifteen minutes later, on my return route, the turtle had already moved on. my outbound effort took 35 minutes while my return took 32:30. after finishing, i walked a little bit along my block before heading in to share my turtle sighting with my kids.

sunday seven

late in the afternoon i headed out with temps in the mid-sixties and a bit of sun. my outbound route headed down comanche then east on the glacial drumlin to bethesda park. i did a 180 and returned back home on the same route at just a bit faster pace. as i neared my house, i greeted my neighbor (and fellow red wings fan) as he was about to start cutting the grass. after chatting for a bit, i hit the shower and called it a day.

the weather was a bit unstable so i opted to run a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) loop around my neighborhood. 3 laps = 15K

lap #1: 25:50 (8:20 pace)
lap #2: 25:20 (8:10 pace)
lap #3: 24:50 (8:00 pace)

route: south on comanche, north on university, west on burton, south on comanche, repeat

a bit warmer today

today i opted for a seven mile route along university avenue. it’s uphill on the way out and subsequently downhill on the way back. my outbound effort took me 30 minutes while my inbound was 27:30. i woke up a few minutes before my alarm clock today – – which is usually a sign that i’m not overtraining.
