friday five

this morning i opted for an easy five miles which took me a few ticks more than 43 minutes to complete. temps were in the upper 30’s so i wore a hat and gloves. it’s ironic that i started the week running in shorts and a short sleeved shirt. regardless, after i finished my morning constitutional, i took out the trash and hit the shower.

university shuffle

this morning i opted to run up to uw-waukesha then back home. the route is challenging in that the outbound portion is significantly uphill. the nice thing is that once i do a 180, the route back home is significantly downhill. regardless, i covered six miles in a few ticks less than 51 minutes and hit the shower.

moon lit morning constitutional

today i opted to run out on the glacial drumlin trail in the wee hours of the morning. the moon was full – or at least nearly full – and reflected plenty of light in an otherwise rural setting. i ran along with leaves crunching underfoot and only saw two other people during my effort. in all, i mustered six miles in around 52 minutes and hit the shower.

easy does it

this morning i got in an easy five miles. my quads are still pretty sore and i didn’t have much "snap" in my legs. regardless, i have been watching the available spots in the Chicago 50K dwindle into the teens and this afternoon i decided to register for the 11/1 event. game on!

first post-marathon run

i slept in this morning and finally got rolling at about 9:30. my route took me down commanche then out west along the glacial drumlin. i made it to 3 miles in about 26 minutes and made a 180 for home. the return effort also took 26 minutes and made it clear that my quads and hammys are quite beat up from the effort last sunday. regardless, it was nice to get out and run after five days off.

MTD – 47 miles
YTD – 1,573 miles
Odometer – 27,911 miles
